In the summer of 2019, the Urban Health Foundation organized a sports challenge to finance the Recharjme wellness service. The objective for these 13 courageous cyclists was to ride 1000 km to raise $1,000 each.thanks to the online campaign, $16,600 was finally raised. This amount was used to finance the rental of 2 rest cabins. These cabins are available in the Montreal hospitals of Notre-Dame and Verdun.
For the occasion, these two cabins were dressed in the colors of the foundation. They are also named after the cyclists, to thank them and highlight their dedication to the well-being of employees in the health care system.
The Urban Health Foundation is one of the first hospital clients to acquire these cabins. Since this acquisition was made during the pandemic, we had to work with the infection control department to ensure the safety of the two relaxation booths with respect to COVID-19.
Two years after the launch of the project, 700 employees have made more than 7,000 reservations in these cabins. A successful project, like this testimonial from Chantal Gagné, a nurse at the Verdun hospital:
